Named simply for the shape that it comes in, the Long Island Cheese Pumpkin is a member of the squash family. It’s lighter outside color is deceiving since the inside still has that bright orange that we all expect to see from a pumpkin. The Cheese Pumpkin is best known for its dense insides that are perfect for cooking, most notably roasting, stews, and Pies!
