Owner and Founder Larry Cuttler started out delivering produce as a teenager, selling fresh strawberries to Manhattan bakeries, restaurants, and others in the early 1950s. Larry’s biggest advantage was that he only sold perfect berries, holding his produce to higher standards of quality, taste,
and aesthetics. Cuttler Produce became synonymous with quality.
Together with Larry’s two sons, Kenny and Stuart, they started a wholesale produce company in 1989 named Cuttler Produce. The goal was simple – Work smarter and harder than our competitors to deliver the best quality produce available on the market. What started with 2 trucks and 2 employees eventually grew and grew, beginning with midnight runs to Hunts Point Market in NY, and ending whenever that day dictated.

Over decades in the food service industry, Cuttler Produce has developed strong relationships with the biggest markets in the northeast, including Hunts Point Market in the Bronx, the largest produce market in the world. We have been able to grow and source a large majority of our produce directly from the growers in places like California, Florida, and Mexico. We also take pride being here in the Garden State as we work with local farmers, giving us more resources for exotic and delicate items such as zucchini flowers, fiddleheads, microgreens, and edible orchids.
Purveyors from around the world deliver to our warehouse daily. Kenny checks the produce himself along with our Quality Control team whom have over 65 years’ experience in the produce industry. If they see any imperfections, they will reject that delivery. We only house the best for our customers.
With 45 refrigerated trucks, 90 employees, and owners that still work 12 hour days, we will absolutely be there to support your business. From the produce to the people that work at Cuttler, we will honor the Cuttler Family legacy by continuing to stand for quality.
